Welcome!

Welcome Academy Students to our class webpage and to a new school year! Throughout this school year you will have the opportunity to reply to posts on this page and initiate in discussions with your classmates. I would like you to check this page at least twice a week throughout the school year as I’ll have comments, assignments, discussions and questions for you to consider!

Your first assignment is to register–read your bookmarks given to you in class to do this. Then, read the “About Me” section and post a response. The response should be a brief introduction to who you are. Please include the class name and period number in the first line of your response.

  2. Ruth Minahan says:

Hi, my name is Ruth Minahan. I am in your World Civ Class, period five. So far I have really enjoyed your class! I found the mini-unit on genocide sad, but very interesting all the same. My favorite period in history is probably the Renaissance age. I have read some books from that era and found everything about the time period sort of “charming” (except for the beheading, poisoning, ect.).
A little about me; I was born in Pennsylvania, and since then lived in three states, five cities, and seven houses. I am an avid swimmer (I am on the Roosvelt Varsity Team! Woo!) and biker and love all sports in general. This summer, I even rode my first RAGBRAI! I had a great time and hope to do it next year. In addition, I play the violin and take private lessons. All these things have added up to a pretty hectic schedule, but I still wish to have a great year in class!
I like all types of music except for Country Western and the generic Classical music. I am pretty handy on the computer and can get carried away when writing/blogging (as you can probably tell). I am excited about taking your class and I will try my best and hope to do well!

    See you tomorrow,
    Ruth Minahan
