World Civ. Students and Parents!

I just wanted to take an opportunity to thank the students for a wonderful 1st ever African Conference! The students were engaged and debating the real issues that plague African nations today! The students really enjoyed hearing Mr. Fasil Kebede speak about Africa and his birth nation, Ethiopia. Next, students spent time  writing resolutions in subcommittees. Those resolutions that passed subcommittees continued to move on to full comittees. The committees represented were Peace and Security, Human Rights, Social Issues and Economic Issues. As resolutions passed the full committees, they moved on to the General Assembly where they were discussed and debated by all the African nations’ delegates. Students put much time and effort to make sure this morning was successful! Pictures of the conference will be posted soon!
