- These chapter outlines will be turned in every Friday-see syllabus for change.
- You will keep these outlines in your 3 ring binder in chronological order-they will help you prepare for the AP test.
- Outlines are worth 5 points.

- The book must be from the book reading list and selected by February 12.You must bring the book with you to class on this date to fill out the approval form. - I will notify you when I have posted a new comment or question for your response. You must respond by the next Friday after it is initially posted. I will randomly select 5 students each time to verify their responses. If you are selected and you did not respond, you will lose 10 points.
- This website will also have additional helpful information such as resource links, the syllabus, this requirement sheet, expectations. It can also be a place to find my contact information
- Many resources are located on the website including chapter id terms, website for History Day, and your syllabus.
National History Day Competition
- March 24 is the Senior District History Day competition. Because we have to limit our number of entries, we must have two stages of run-offs. One stage will be on February 26—this is the date to register for the competition; it is also the date papers are DUE and a url is DUE for a website. If you are showing significant progress in your category and would LIKE to compete at districts, you will be able to register for the district competition. Remember, competing at districts gives you “bonus points” towards your semester 2 final exam. It will cost $10 to register. Even if you decide not to compete, you still must submit a project for a grade on March 24. If you win at districts, you will compete in April at the State History Day competition. If you win at state, you will go to Washington DC to compete at Nationals. Each year at least one group from Central Academy has gone to Nationals—it could be you!
- The week of March 8, all students competing MUST demonstrate their activity-they will be displayed during parent-teacher conferences if possible. You will then have additional time to “tweak” your activity if necessary before districts. Don’t forget the theme this year is “Innovation and History: Impact and Change” -a great topic! The website to find more information about this contest, guidelines, and rules/ responsibilities are at www.nationalhistoryday.org (there is a link on our class website too).
